ISO 22000 - Food safety management system
ISO 22000 creates global consensus on food safety
As the first globally effective standard for food safety, ISO 22000 creates an industrial consensus on the expectations of a management system in this sensitive area. Beyond the requirements of ISO 9001, it requires preventive programs and the concept of HACCP analysis for a guaranteed, comprehensive hygiene.
Successful certification according to ISO 22000 increases the quality and safety of your products, because by establishing a PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act) your company continuously improves its processes and procedures. And because of the international character of the standard, national certifications become obsolete.
ISO 22000 is easy to handle in combination with other ISO standards. This compatibility will be further increased in the course of the forthcoming revision of the standard (probably in 2018), as ISO 22000 will be adapted to the High Level Structure (HLS) - a uniform structure already known from the revisions of ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management).
