Sustainability in the entire supply and production chains for biodiesel, bioethanol, biogas and other biofuels
The production of renewable energies and fuels from biomass is gaining importance worldwide. In the Renewable Energy Directive (RED, 2009/28/EC), the EU created binding requirements for the sustainable production and processing of biomass for the European biofuels market. In German law, these requirements were implemented in the Biokraft-NachV, BioSt-NachV and BImSchV (37th and 38th). Biofuels from palm oil, rapeseed, sugar beet, grain or waste and residues such as used cooking oil account for the largest share of biofuels traded in Europe.
REDcert certification ensures that the EU sustainability requirements for the cultivation of crops are met and that the entire supply chain can be traced back seamlessly: A REDcert EU certification ensures access to the European biofuel market. In particular, organizations such as farms, land dealers, conversion plants, suppliers and warehouses are required to be certified according to REDcert.
REDcert is an association-based certification system recognised by the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE) and the European Commission. GUTcert has been certified according to the REDcert standard since 2009, and thus has extensive experience in this field. Certification according to REDcert EU or DE is currently only possible for locations in Germany and the European Union. Thanks to GUTcert's internationally experienced auditors, we are in a position to offer REDcert audits throughout Europe.
With our accreditation by the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE), certification of sustainable biofuels by GUTcert is officially recognised and also meets the highest standards of quality and integrity.
