GUTcert: Who we are and what we do
GUTcert's core business is the certification of management systems in accordance with the globally recognised standards of the International Standards Organisation (ISO). In addition, we also audit providers according to AZAV for the Federal Employment Agency.
We validate environmental declarations in accordance with the European EMAS standard and, as an independent environmental verifier and recognised expert organisation, verify emissions reporting in accordance with the EU ETS and greenhouse gas emissions (carbon footprints).
Auditing services for the energy industry, such as audits in accordance with the CHP Act, certification of primary energy factors or verifications and environmental reports in accordance with the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), expand our profile. And the guidelines we have developed for efficient energy management in accordance with ISO 50001 are available in several languages.
Since 2010, we have been accredited to certify sustainable biomass for fuel and energy utilisation worldwide in accordance with ISCC and REDcert.
The sustainability check developed by GUTcert rounds off our range of services, but is by no means the end of the line: we are a young company, always have our finger on the pulse of the times and still have plenty of ideas!
And because we want to share our experience and the extensive expertise of our employees and auditors with our customers, we have been passing on our knowledge in the seminars and events of the GUTcert Academy since 2010.
The topic of gender-appropriate language is important to GUTcert
Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to meet all needs in terms of German language regulations, diversity and fluency.
We have therefore looked at the many possibilities, discussed them intensively and developed our own ‘GUTcert gender catalogue’.
In this way, we hope to be able to convey our attitude and address all people equally - regardless of their gender. For 20 years now, we have been careful not to differentiate between gender or origin in terms of content or anywhere else.
In order not to impair the flow of reading, we do not use gender gaps. Where possible, we use alternative terms or the participle.
None of this will happen overnight. We therefore ask for your patience - we are working on it and will continue to do so!
In 1997, the GUTcert certification company for management systems was founded - spun off and made independent from the engineering and consulting company for business organisation and environmental protection GUT (Gesellschaft für Umwelttechnik), which had existed since 1986.
By joining the AFNOR Group (Association Francaise de Normalisation) in May 2008, GUTcert gains a strong partner and grows rapidly - the number of employees triples in the following 3 years.
Thanks to numerous accreditations of GUTcert and the successful partnership with AFNOR, the international business is also significantly expanded: In association with our parent company, we offer the entire spectrum of certification services in Germany and abroad. Audits according to TS 16949 in the automotive sector or certifications for railway suppliers according to IRIS can be combined with audits according to ISO 9001, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, EMAS or BS OHSAS 18001, for example.
